Herd sires for our flock are chosen based on traits that we feel will improve the performance, growth, and quality of the lambs. We expect our rams to be large framed with strong feet and legs, a nice long level topline, and a pleasing appearance. He needs to be easily handled, a "gentleman" with the ewes, non aggressive, structurally correct, and have a smooth shedding haircoat. Rams are tested annually for BioSecurity and B-Ovis. The rams have their own private quarters when they are not actively breeding ewes. They are maintained on good quality hay, pasture, minerals and a small amount of grain when "on-vacation." We do not feed grain during breeding sessions.
